I will initiate Trashdome this week with a match-up I suggested a long time ago.

WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting on it. End your first post in this thread with the title of the game you're placing a bet on (i.e. voting for) so its clear to me when reading it later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. Counting expansions or not is entirely up to you just as playing with them or not is. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

It's like the ultimate battle of fun-murdering versus fun. I choose fun.

Well - I've never played, or seen, AGMFOS but I do really enjoy playing PG. In fact because I know virtually jack shit about AGMFOS, I have no idea why they are even matched up (?)

Vote: Power Grid

I like Power Grid an awful lot, but it simply comes down to which game lets you use beer as "5 dice to kill."

VOTE: AWFUL GREEN THINGS

I think it's because PG is in an awful green box, but otherwise, I'm in the same boat. I like Power Grid and so do my gaming buddies. I just don't like it as much as so many AT games (Arkham Horror, Descent, TI3, etc.).

Vote: Power Grid

I'm guessing they were matched because one is ABOUT awful green things, and one just LOOK like an awful green thing.

Power Grid. The whole "keep people close in score" thing is a bit draconian, but I've gotten a lot of hours out of it.

My last game of PG involved having a calculator being passed about.

Uh-fucking-uh! I am done with that shit. Never played AGTFOS but I liked the look of it when I was a kid.

VOTE: AGTFOS

Awesome! Too bad this wasn't saved for St. Patrick's Day for a green-on-green showdown.

AGTFOS is a classic. I love the art. I love that in one game the fire extinguisher can be the best weapon for the crew, but in others it can be the absolute worst.

I'm putting a proxy vote in for Matt Thrower until he shows up, in case he misses this one ...

Yeah, if only there was a site where they could go discuss boring, brown, work-in-a-box games... perhaps such a hypothetical site could have a marginally descriptive name, like say boardgamegeek.com. Maybe someday.
