Finished my Night Spinner to what I am considering a table-top standard.

I think it came out okay. It looks really rough in patches, but my goal at the beginning of this project was to have something quick and "complete" on the table.

I got my hands on the Warmachine 2-player starter box the other day, and immediately ran into a whole heap of trouble. The figures come without any assembly instructions. The only guide is the finished products on the box back. At first it looks like all the parts for each are in separate bags, but closer inspection reveals that's not the case - there's a bit of mix and match going on.

The figures themselves are detailed, but they're not great quality and one piece was so badly bent it snapped in half. That's not cool when you compare prices with, say, a box of Silver Tower figures: this is only £10 cheaper and has less in the box of lesser quality.

Then I thought my poly cement had gone off. It seemed to melt the figures - I got strands of it everywhere - but nothing stuck. It was only an hour into the process, after I'd essentially ruined one of the figures with repeat glue applications, that I saw the small print on the box back saying to use superglue. Which, of course, you should never use on polystyrene figures.

I haven't played the game yet, but it's a terrible start. I'm going to see if I can get replacements for my snapped and glue-ruined pieces.

Ha! I appreciate the nod, but not hardly.
My models have a lot of errors. Nor do I employ any sort of nice blending or shading or what not. I use very basic techniques in the interest of getting models done and on the table.

For that big guy, I simply wanted to move away from the standard khorne red, but stay with the warband's 'Bloodskin' theme....so blue skin. I hope he doesn't look to much like superman...

Previously I was working on Silver Tower models, but moved over to Khorne to play skirmish with my son. Well, I decided to work on both at the same time. Here's the first photo of my official Tzeentch warband.

It also has to do with good photography, whatever little mistakes are there, I can't see them. I've given up on making photos of my minis because the first thing that I see after making the picture are all those screw-ups.

Yeah, that happens all the time. Close inspection of these photos and I see a bunch of stuff that could be corrected. However...

A - As a buddy told me, "Bird in the hand..." and all of that. I could keep how they are and move on or forever look for 'perfection'. At this point, I'm more than willing to let imperfections go. Most of them you don't see at arms length on the table. Besides, I'm not entering any Golden Daemon contests. This is supposed to be for fun.

B - Photos like the above are easy to put together, and they allow the eye to take in the scene as a whole instead of just focus on one model against white. Imperfections hide easier when there's other relevant objects to observe.

Here is the thing I've noticed. If you paint your stuff (like I do most of it) following GW official schemes, it will inevitably get compared to official GW stuff (and lose in comparison). If you do your own thing, it kind of exists in its own league and minor imperfections aren't that important.

Impeccable color choices though! I think that's very important if I don't want to employ fancy techniques.

I am not sure since I'm not really playing. I guess on the 3000ish points range (did a count when Index came out). My main plan is to collect a company (since 2005 lol), so lot of it are just regular dudes.

I pick some other things if it's a deal I can't pass. But these things, you can count them with your fingers.

Like this Land Raider I'm working on. I got it 40 usd shipped to Indonesia.
