Why do I feel like quests for "high quality" miniatures in these games is code for "jerk-off level of detail"?

As noted, this was the miniature under construction.

Here's what the finished miniature looks like.

That's certainly an awesome looking mini. My opinion as to the higher quality material for "bonus" minis is that if recent history teaches us anything is that people can't throw enough money at a KS game if it had awesome minis. It would fund in a matter of minutes.

So kickstarter in January? Please take my money NOW!
