Preventing lost posts from navigating away

Over the years I've lost countless posts and draft copies of articles/blogs from accidentally navigating away from the page or similar reasons. I noticed on LinkedIn today that if you intentionally or unintentionally navigate away from a page where you have put something in the content pane, it asks you if you're sure you want to navigate away (due to content being present in the content pane).

Is it possible to get that here? I don't know if that's an easy thing to program or difficult. But I found that really useful.



...also, Mike Barnes' avatar is really not adding any value whatsoever. Can something be done about that?

Does this really not happen to anyone else?? I thought I was making a good suggestion.
