Oh come on how can you not like Shadowrun setting? You must be dead inside. It's as AT as it gets. Completly over the top yet still quite deep and sophisticated. Writing it off as Tolkien mixed with Cyberpunk is pretty lame it's so much more than that. Not to mention it was quite unusual and original at the time. Sure now we have mash-ups of everything, but I don't recall anything even remotely similar back then. Disclaimer: I'm a die hard cyberpunk fan and in literary fiction I usually prefer it understated like the later Gibson novels but this is a fucking game, relax and have some silly fun.
