FFG has the pewter Descent: Road to Legend Lieutenants on sale now.

They look pretty good, but I don't think at $10-$15 each I'll be buying any. I have yet to get a proper RTL campaign going, and even if you do the Lts. don't seem to come out that often.

If they had been plastic, and sold as a set, maybe.

I wonder if they will include plastic ones in future sets of RTL now that they have the molds done. That's probably too optimistic and unrealistic. If they did though, we might be able to get a set of plastics cheap or perhaps they will go on clearance. It kind of irks me because I would have paid an extra ten bucks to get the minis in the box.

Cardhaus has them for $7.99 but that is still too much for my taste. Yet, I can see myself cursing in 12 years over how I was so stupid not to get these back in the day. I try to fight that side of me but I'm sort of doing that now regarding my Middle Earth CCG collection.

It's hard to fight that collector mentality sometimes, especially when you have a good amount of a certain product. But money is tight, fuck it.

I doubt they'll be in future RTLs. Though, I suppose a platic set could be made available at some point. But for now, I'm fine using an extra ogre figure for Thaad the Destroyer (sorry Thaad) and extra hero minis for the smaller LTs. I've got 20 extra just laying in the box anyways.

Probably not, as they use different molds for metal and plastic minis.

I didn't know that. How interesting. They should do a segment of "How it's Made" on miniature production and stuff like that.

I would love to have these, but #1 I can't see dropping coin on the whole set, and #2, I can't paint for shit.

I hope they do a plastic set down the road, all in one or something. I'd buy that.

I've read plenty of those in White Dwarf magazine over the years. The molds for plastic minis are actually more expensive to make than for metal ones, so for smaller production runs, metal minis are more profitable.
