The game is hard enough without getting all weird about the ending. Let's help each other out---until the last 30 seconds!


Like I was saying it's not like we're playing competitively. But we do tally a group score at the end and whoever has the most gates gets the arbitrary MVP medal. I mean it's not like we're hoarding gate trophies when we could use them for an advantage. It's kinda cool to be able to look back on the records. We have an brief account of almost every game we've won since we started playing.

Fuck no, those rules are ignored by me.
As far as spending trophies go - deputy is a favourite, Or the ship and shit from Kingsport. Otherwise I just spend them on whatever takes my mood at the time.


I forgot about the Kingsport stuff. One of these days I'll get the ship.

No. It seems less to me about being the 'winner' than the 'MVP', actually, but even so it's a pretty stupid criterion, since it rewards hoarding instead of actually supporting your team, or even just fighting the GOO. An awful attempt to elevate a single person in what is truly a cooperative game.

The scoring system is stupid, too.

In my group Deputy is #1 and we rarely spend the trophies elsewhere. Blessings are probably the next most thing.

Anyone ever gotten 'Changed' at Kingsport? It's a goal of mine which I'm almost sure would result in a loss for the group because of the time commitment (2 gates + 6 turns of movement to get to the Strange High House and back).

I know, the time commitment for that is jaw-dropping. I mean just how many turns does an average game of AH last? Most GOOs have up to 13 doom token slots, so around a max. of 13 turns of game before he wakes up perhaps? Unless you have a Find Gate spell to quicken the two explorations, then you zoom up to Kingsport (a fast investigator, or one with a motorbike, would be useful), and hope you don't get one of those events that send you back down the pike.
