Just got this yesterday. Bought it 3-4 months ago. Stupid overseas shipping.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get WotR on the table for a few more plays with this. Only 1 or 2 people in my game group actually enjoy playing WotR, and both of them have only played once. Everyone else who has played more than once don't want to play it anymore (they're idiots, what can we do). Among their many many reasons for disliking the game is what they call the "pussy tactic" of the FP army running into the safety of their stronghold whenever they're threatened. Many a mighty horde have been turned away at the gates of Minas Tirith and Helm's Deep.
Looking at the companion games though, I'm given a little hope. The walls of the stronghold now have HP. Also, the siege towers and trebuchets negate the protection of the walls. This fact may convince them to come and try it, and even though it's not exactly WotR, it's better than nothing. The fact that each unit now has their own special maneuver that makes the game more action packed and full of theme.
I'm going to have an awesome WotR filled weekend... unless they demand a WFRP session
