My brother just ordered The World Cup Game for our Thanksgiving family gathering. I'm really excited. We've been talking about this game for 3 years now. I hope it lives up to expectations.
My one play of this was probably the best social game session I've had in the past five years. I had the shittiest draw, but in a table of several players, I was the only player to get muliple teams - three crap countries - into the quarterfinals. I stopped there, but two unlikely teams made it into the finals. The game itself was so thrilling that player elimination wasn't a problem.
