They are sending me a preview copy, and so I'll be obligated to write a proper review.

It is a cross between a Dungeon Crawl and Crokinole. I am so psyched. It is like they made a game just for me. The big downside is that I know our usual Swamp Castle crew will hate it, and whine about the dexterity part.

While the dungeon itself is a linear set of encounters generated randomly by cards, the actual combat involves seperate boards with built in obstacles, special abilities for the heroes and monsters, items, and the usual dungeon crawl bits.

I've had my eye on this one; it's definitely on my radar. Looking forward to your review.

I love games with a Christian theme.

That looks like it could be cool. But that looks like a lot of discs on a little board.

Has anyone played that crokinole meets miniatures game? I forget what it's called.

That looks cool to me. Here's the video preview:

It does look a little cramped, though. There was a very nice looking themed Crokinole game I saw a while back, with a large custom board. I can't remember the name, though...

I always loved bumper pool, and these kind of games remind me of that.

Interesting. I am happy to see new mechanics in dungeon adventuring games. I like the special powers and weird setups and think this could be a lot of fun. However I am I am skeptical that it will feel like and adventure game. I really don't see it carrying off the theme and will probably always feel like a quirky dextarity game. I hope it exceeds my expectations.

And yes- Frank needs to be handicapped with duck tape and twine to play this.

Those guys really need to be more enthusiastic about their own game when they release a promo like that, honestly.

They need the group that is climbing up the charts of the BGG pictures playing Catacombs (for the usual reasons) to be videorecorded playing it. That group looks like it is having fun!

I'm going to wait and see if anyone around here gets it as I'm not digging the dexterity game / crawler combo at the moment (but I'm willing to play someone elses to see if a play or two changes my mind).

I am stoked that they are thinking out of the box though and the production values look darn good for a small company release.

Good points guys. That is a nice-looking game from such a small company, but yeah, the guys doing the demo sounded a little bit bored towards the end. And I agree with Steve that the dexterity aspect will always distract from the theme. In general, dexterity games are kind of unfair, because the game owner tends to become much more skilled than other players.

Good call.

The infamous Catacombs With Boobies picture is now something like the #2 picture at BGG. I just never get tired of watching BGG's overwhelmingly Awkward Male demographic try to figure out how to react to images of the top half of women's breasts.
