One of the local stores has this on sale for $20. My son (3yrs) is really in to dinosaurs right now, so I was thinking about picking this up to play in a few years.

Short answer- buy now. For $20, it's a bargain. It's also a really fun game and your kid will love it, it's fairly easy to play and we've always had a lot of laughs with it. There's actually a suggestion in the rules to let the really young ones just control the dinosaurs. "Watch out, dad" it admonishes.
What Barnes said. It is a good family game especially for only $20. When the Spawn was younger, we used the varient were she just moved the dinos and it worked great.
