What is your best game?

No, not your favorite game... what is the game that you win the most? Why?

Mine:

Fury of Dracula (FFG) - I played a lot of Hide'n'Seek when I was a kid, so I feel like I just have a strong gut instinct about where to look and where to hide. And when I'm a hunter, I try to discourage the other hunters from drawing event cards when we are closing in on Dracula, and instead focus on pure strategy to get him. Starve him of cards, especially that teleport one.

Kung Fu 2100 - Played the hell out of this game when I was younger, so I feel like the strategies and even odds are hard-wired into my brain.

Acquire - I learned how to play Acquire before I learned how to play Candyland, because my dad was addicted and needed regular opponents. I never won the tournament at GenCon, but the two times I entered, I easily made it to the second round and made it to the semi-finals once.

Railroad Tycoon--I don't really know why. I think it's probably because my long term spatial planning is pretty good and processing fairly quickly. So I can look at a board and see what starting spot is going to be useful for level 6 engine deliveries late in the game without spending too much time and effort on it.

Isn't there an old thread that covers this topic?

I'm nigh unbeatable in Battleline, granted I've only ever played my brother and my wife, but I almost always win. I traded it away for Pocket Battles though.

At the moment probably Battlestar Galactica 'cos I'm a bloody sneaky bastard. Otherwise I'm not a great winner .... thank God my lad isn't here, he'd be laughing at the thought of me winning something.

hmmm... it was Bloodbowl. I won a hat trick of tourneys in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. I have since sold all the stuff off, so out of my current games it would be Settlers of Catan. I haven't played in about 4-5 years but through the late 90's and early 00's I won a good share of SoC tourneys at local conventions.

I wish I was better at HotS. I'd like to try my hand at WBC, but I get beat all the time locally.

I'd like to give Metalface a go at Battleline though. :)

I hate to say it, but probably Dominion -- I've one about 90% of the games I've played, counting trying it out on BSW to see if it were better online (it isn't).

Of games that I really like, Twilight Struggle.

If we move to Austin you can have your shot at the title.

I'm also pretty good at Poison, I often make it without taking any points at all.

Probably MAGIC: THE GATHERING. I was a PTQ level player way back in the olden days, and the game hasn't moved much. I would say Constructed over Draft formats, but that's mostly because I don't know the current sets for shit and would need to be looking things over.

Wait, no, BOGGLE. Man I will kick the shit out of you in that game.

I have never lost a game of either Carrom of Pitchcar... just haven't. I have some wicked skills in those games. I would say the same of Crokinole but the guys I game with (2 of them) are impossibly good at that game (which strangly doesn't transfer that well to the other two flickers we play).

Torres, unfortunaely I hate it with a firely passion. I'm good at all those boring abstract games that are about how your stuff is arranged on the board, like Through the Desert, Samurai, Ingenious.

My wife kills me in any abstract we play: Ubongo, Ingenious, etc.

BSG:
always win as a Cylon
always lose as a Human

I have good record in most DOAMs (CitOW, TI3, WK, Runewars, ...) where mix of lying, negotiation, strategy and tactics is needed

Puerto Rico and Twilight Struggle. I'm insanely good at both.
