This is bit of a pointless thread, but what the fuck ever.

Anyway for some odd reason I've suddenly felt heroscape-y, and have decided to finally attempt to 'finish off' my collection. Thing is im not 100% sure what I have an haven't got, but from memory I think I am 'missing' the following:

Marrow swarm master set
Aquilla's Alliance
Ticalla jungle
Blackmoons siege
Valkrills Gambit
Flagbearers

I'm not interested in any of the D&D stuff, I'm happy to stop after HS 'died' more or less.
Now Marrow master set and Valkrills are available at the local for a nice price, so I'll probably pick them up. But they also have Marvel Heroscape for pretty cheap ($33). So the question is do I want it? I'm kind of over superheros, but it would be fun to send Iron man through time to fight samurais and shit. So my $33 will be based on group consensus found here.
So vote yay or nay.

I vote yes. I've been looking for a copy since my brother keeps bugging me get some. I'd only ever play Hulk though. Jesus, that guy is a monster.

Well. Each of those heroes is a notch tougher than a firebreathing dragon, and can easily punch through multiple squads all by themselves. But if you don't mind them being bigger than everything else (stats-wise), then yes it's a decent buy.

Nay. Marvel Heroscape never appealed to me and for many of the same reasons that D&D turned me off. I always thought licensing Heroscape was dumb even though very few of the units or heroes stem from original ideas. Knowing that the Marvel Heroes are over-powered compared to the rest is as good a reason to skip it as any.

I say buy as well, they are all nice sculpts and the terrain is pretty neat too.

Looks remarkably close to the hole in my collection.

Skelly, I am a HS nut. Big time ex-player and fan.

The Marvel set is good because of the terrain, but only if you have the Volcarren Wasteland lava set. Using the black asphalt with the lava makes for awesome looking maps. Other than that, skip it. You can get the heroes cheap on Ebay.

Enjoy, and good luck!

You'll be bringing a Howitzer to the Crimean War. There's a certain charm to that, but it's going to wear off quickly. I'd say hold off.

Ditto, if you don't like the D&D Heroscape stuff, the Marvel Heroscape stuff is even more out of place. At least with the D&D stuff they try to make it work together with the classic stuff, mechanically. To me neither of them fit with my conception of Heroscape.

I say yes - I've found that the Marvel dudes are more likely to get the attention of potential new opponents.

I ended up skipping it - the mixed reaction and the fact it apparenlty doesn't intergrate well turned me off. Maybe another time.

I ordered Swarm of the marrow and wave 10. Pulled out all of my old stuff on the weekend (forgot how attractive this game is) and confirmed I was right with what I was missing. So the stuff I have left to hunt down is:

Aqua's alliance
Wave 9
ticilla jungle (might try for 2 of those)
Flagbearers.

The flagbearers and more like the essen guys which I wont bother with, so that leaves 3 other items. Does hasbro still do reprints of original HS or am I stuck with trying ebay prices?

i think they have a semi-regular reprint policy. housemousegames might have some of what you are looking for.

They used to reprint the waves on a semiannual basis, but with the advent of D&DScape, that's in the past for the most part. I've, as of yet, heard of no scheduled ClassicScape reprint, which is total bullshit.
