Pocket Battles -- I was right, Zev was wrong.

So Pocket Battles is this kickin' baby wargame that let's you play across its three different versions. Z-Man released Celts vs Romans first and that was cool. Then they released Orcs vs Elves and I responded to Zev with a whiskey-tango-foxtrot message, indicating my displeasure with the release of a bullshit theme. I may have used the word candy-assed but I can't verify. His response -- "fear not, Macedonians vs Persians is next!" He also indicated that they had to publish what people would buy and that orcs and elves were very popular. Yech.

Well well well, the market has spoken. Orcs vs Elves is freely available while both historic titles are out of stock virtually everywhere. There's jokers on Amazon asking $250 for Macedonians vs Persians, the Japanese version. The only copies on eBay have to ship from Canuckistan.

I'm just saying, with prices like that I think Z-Man should consider a reprint before some Chinese company starts flooding the market with high quality rip-offs of this obviously in-demand game.

That's why I jumped all over Zev for PB:MvP when a few months back he sold off a bunch of games. Also, he listed it with "box damage", but it came in perfect so that was a big plus!

I love Pocket Battles, all versions. I love being able to play Elves vs. Macedonians.

Man, to think Matt and I were rolling out cheap packaged deals for those historical ones at WBC two years ago.

Orcs and Elves is the only one I have. Never played it.

I would love to see more people get Karim's art services for other games...

He's done a bunch of games and it's pretty remarkable how different the art is on each one. Most artists have a look that you can pick out. He did Alien Frontiers and Space Cadets too, and I never would have figured the three of them from the same hand. Quite the chameleon.

The next PB is American Civil War - Confederates vs. Union.

Orcs vs. Elves is sold out - but it is a slower seller than the others. However, it took us a long while to reprint MvP, hence its increased perceived value. CvR we did about two print runs and looking at doing a third. In fact I believe we are reprinting the first three PBs while doing the new 4th one.

Any chance you'll do suggested army lists for Celts vs. Romans to align with the other sets?

Who's doing the art for ACW? Quite a different beast from the original three.
