Counter Clipping

Counter Clipping was created by Mr. White
Alright, time to clean up some of these frays...

I understand the following is the best tool, but not sure I want to be into this to the tune of $40.
www.amazon.com/Radius-Corner-Rounder-Punch-Cutter/dp/B008CG7D1S

Can anyone suggest a better, more economical clipping solution? I'll need the process to be good for both larger counters (say, Warriors of God) and smaller (think Swords and Sorcery).

Looking for good suggestions for a beginner.

I was just clipping counters last night. If that's the tool featured in "The Final Solution to Counter Clipping" thread on BGG, that's what I use.

I don't think there is a better way.

It still requires some focus to make things are even but the counters come out looking good. I hold them upside down so I can make sure the corner is aligned by looking in the ejection hole.

I have used them on many different size counters. The big and small ones from Combat Commander for instance.

$36 bucks sounds like a lot and it probably is if you don't have a large quantity of counters you want to clean up. But if you've got several high counter density games and plan on clipping, they are worth it.

Otherwise, stick with the nail clippers. They work as well as anything else.

I received a game from Repo that he clipped with whatever tool he uses and they look, play and feel fantastic - Much better than my nail-clipper counters. I need to get whatever he uses for my own games.

There are cheaper punches out there, my man. I have one and it works like a charm on most materials I've put through it.

Google "Scrapbooking corner clipper" to get what you need.

Here's a nice 20$ unit: www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/We-R-Mem...XJLVETU&searchidx=13

This one's bad ass, actually. It has removable dies for 1/4" or 1/2" radius.

I use an old cd case (the soft plastic one)as a jig and nail clippers. If I could afford it I would go with the $40 one, without a doubt. It seems to have a pretty solid track record.

I recommend the Porter Cable 371k 5-amp belt sander. Its indented grip makes it very easy to handle when working on half inch chits.

Some go with the 352VS 8-amp, but seriously, that's overkill.

Pfft, anybody who doesn't use a band saw to clip counters isn't doing it right. The bigger the tool, the better it works, everybody knows that.

I once used an experimental clipper back when I visited Japan, but sadly, Nagasaki will never be the same. I ended up selling the tech to the government so that they could play A Distant Plain.

Fucking FDR took credit, that crippled fuck.
