Cthulhu Rising
Why do I call it "The Ultimate Horror"?

A tile drawing and placement abstract strategy game without cards.
. . . . . . . . Designed by Reiner Knizia.

Knizia is really reaching here to make his game relevant and exciting by slapping a popular theme on an otherwise boring game with no obvious thematic mechanic. Of course that's like pointing out that grass is green. Sorry I wasted your valuable reading time.

Hmmmm....where is the "afraid" emoticon?

At least the back of the box will make any unlucky customer attracted by the theme quickly put the game back into the shelf again:

Numbers!?

By the company which brought you: All Wound Up .

Jesus christ. They didn't even put pictures on the tiles, just numbers.

I can't wait to hear the apologists begin their defense.

An abstract ...horror... game?

That this has a theme at all seems ridiculous to me.

What a shitty picture of Cthulhu on the box!

Maybe the real ultimate horror is Kinizia throwing together some rules and putting the Cthulhu name on it. Now eurogamers can brag about the new horror game they play and compare it to Arkham Horror. I fucking hate Reiner Kinizia. Really lowers my opinion of Twilight Creations too, though my opinion of them was pretty low anyway.

Well . . . the concept of zero can be pretty terrifying.

Ooh yeah! I find it absolutely hilarious. Mainly because it's extremely revealing of how Eurodesigners think about theme.

Now, if you must have Cthulhu and tiles... Ra-Thulhu . Is that stunning or is that stunning?
