Kingdoms

Warning FFG has been advertising Kingdoms non-stop for the last couple of weeks. From the advertisements with all the cool graphics I thought it was a new FFG games. Then I saw they were advertising Reiner Knizia's 1994 game Kingdoms.

There is nothing wrong with Kingdoms. It's a quick mathy euro filler game that is actually very cutthroat with lots of player interaction. But their is little or no theme to game. I wonder why FFG is advertising Kingdoms so much now. To compete with Kingdom Builder? Because Donald X. Vaccarino is coming to work for FFG? or did somebody figure out that FFG has 20,000 copies of this game?

They're advertising it becuase it's a republish. Some new plastic and a few extra tiles in it as far as I can tell.

Played Kingdom Builder the other day with three others. Game. eats. shit. Period. Stay Away. It reminded me of LeCita (SP) but with looser placement rules(houses/barns over pre cut area pieces), I've never hated a game right out of the gate, but this one sucks. Is this a case of a sophomore slump for Donald X.Vaccarino?

Hope he gets over it because I have high hopes for Infiltration.

Also, Kingdoms is a great game.
