Ad Astra preview/interview with Bruno Faidutti

FFG has a first preview up of Bruno Faidutti and Serge Laget's Ad Astra. Interesting nonetheless to see how a designer works on a game.

Faidutti mentions that it's heavily influenced by Settlers. Will this just be a case of "if you want to play Settlers, why not play Settlers?" Either way, color me slightly intrigued.

It's no secret that it's his favourite game.

I think this might turn out to be a good one. Bruno's done some great stuff, and Serge did MARE NOSTRUM so the pedigree is there. Of course...there's also BOOMTOWN and SHADOWS OVER CAMELOT on their resumes...

But it looks promising.

I just played boomtown for the first time a couple of weeks ago and a second time last week and I'm enjoying it. I like stupid dice games and it helps a lot if you all talk like old toothless prospectors so maybe that's it.

I'm certainly excited to see this new jam.

I liked this part of the interview the most.

I really like to work with Serge. He has good ideas and good whisky.
