Well, expect no response from DOW. I received a call from Eric who has taken it all personally and felt I staged this whole thing to coincide when he was in an airport (my reaction was based on the release of info not his flight schedule).

I have been asked to not email the company any longer and that I am no friend of DOW. I was also asked to stop purchasing their products.

I thought the original letter was fine. Eric sounds like a man child.

I had not and would be very surprised by comments from Eric Hautemont on a public forum like BGG. I briefly went through the thread. But I could not find any comments from Eric. Can you show me? Ryan B.

Ryan: Sorry man. Fuzzy braincells remembered reading the comments in that thread or a related one. It was actually Brian posting about it, not an actual statement by Eric. Sorry man; didn't mean to overstate (severely) the case but it was simply filed in my head under "bizarro game publisher and consumer activities".

Hey man, no problem. That does help clarify things. Thanks.

One thing we should be mindful of is that we are only getting Brian's take on that conversation. How many times, after talking with the other person, do we get new information which mitigates the validity of the other so-called "aggrieved" party? Certainly, it could have very well went down exactly the way Brian says it did. But at least, (if that is the case), Eric handled it privately and didn't call out Brian out on the forums. That shows a pretty good level of restraint on Eric's part...even if Brian has valid points about DOW.

In fact, if there is a weak link in that I would have expected it to come from Mark Kaufmann, who doesn't strike me, personally, as the most people friendly. But hey... I could be waaaay off base with that. Its not like I am around him every day. But in my dealings with DoW, Eric has always struck me as the very polite, the very helpful and the reasonably gregarious, pro customer person.

Mark? Brusque. Which I thought was pretty silly at the time, since 60% of my BGN writing was usually about DOW. Even so, I had to remain objective and focus it to what I thought about DOW's recent games. Admittedly, none of which I thought were exceptional.

Thanks Uethym. Much appreciated.
