I agree that if you don't think RftG has enough interaction (or San Juan for that matter) Glory to Rome is definitely for you. It's a great game that took me quite a while to warm up to. San Juan I find dull, I love RftG, but Glory to Rome takes the role selection idea in a whole other direction.
The buildings are completely unbalanced, but that's intentional. It's about being the first to get your victory engine set up while screwing with the other players.
The only downside is the artwork and the box it comes in. Although functional it feels like cheap clipart pasteups and the plastic container completely doesn't work.
