Fuck all that bizarro Jap crap. To hell with your silly little army men. Yah, maybe I was a little too mainstream but this is the stuff I was playing with...
With tow cable and light up blasters on the side.
Every year at Christmas, that JCPenny catalog would come and I'd pick out which Star Wars figures I wanted. Of course I was an asshole and actually played with them rather than saving for resale in my 40's. Kids can be such shortsighted jerks.
Also, your puny "Real American Heroes" aren't G.I. Joe. This is G.I. Joe...Kung Fu Grip and all mother fuckers....

Was it called BRIO or is that the US version of this? LOVED IT. Would have my dinos involved for some Jurassic Park remakes.

Yes, it's BRIO.
They didn't have the roads and houses depicted above in my time.
But I had a couple of these trees and people.
I watched Jurassic Park when I was 11 and it scared me to death.

Repo comes in here busting on us and calling back to Star Wars but then look at 'em...he posted an image of a RECENT Target Exclusive Snowspeeder. That ain't the real deal, friend. That one doesn't even have those cool ass clear tubes for the blasters.
I _loved_ the Snowspeeder toy. I had the completely out of scale AT-AT too, so of course that thing went tumbling down quite a few times. I think I had like every Hoth toy they made because that was my favorite part when I was little. Tauntaun, that ice playset with the turret, those zany not-in-the-movie vehicles, Wampa, Wampa cave playset all of it.
BRIO is kind of hard to find in the US now, and it's stupidly expensive. There are a lot of wooden train sets just like BRIO (and compatible) but much cheaper. River and Scarlett have a fake BRIO train table. The thing is, when they see one in a bookstore or something they'll play with it for an hour. At home, they walk by it and act like it's not even there.
River actually has the M.A.S.K. Condor motorcycle, he plays with it all the time. He also has the red one with the jet engines. I had a bunch of that stuff, most of it got destroyed.
WHen we were at my parents' house last week, I went into the basement and dug up an almost intact "vehicle Voltron" (Danrugger). I also found my ancient copy of Dark Future, but it was kind of rangy-looking.

We didn't have toys when I was young, my family was too poor. My dad said I needed some culture in my life though so he made us play with AIDS.
You guys had it easy.

Poor kids have been known to have larger dicks so that they, too, have something to play with.

Zoids- Would build them wind them up and kinda watch them walk across the table. Not as much fun as the actual building.
Bigtrak- that's where it was at:
www.toysyouhad.com/Bigtrak.htm
I really liked Sectaurs and Starriors too. Had a bunch of those. I really liked the Visionaries cartoon but didn have any of them.
I wonder if th BigTrak is still up in parents attic. The 6 D cell batteries might be hard to come by these days...
