I am trying to remember the name of a game that I recall playing and that I thought was pretty exceptional for it's genre but I have no idea what it was called or who made it. Let's see if any of you smarties can help a brother out.

1)It was one of those "mystery" games where you have puzzles to solve and certain objects in a room are clickable. I don't know what the official name is for that type of game.

2)The setting was Paris in the 30's and you were an out of work artist. The mystery revolved around somebody getting killed and leading you to a group of Nazis involved with the occult. Very "noir" with some horror stuff too.

3)The game was out in the 90's and was for PC.

I ask because it was a game that really really nailed the atmosphere it was going for. From the dialog, to the music, to the visuals. And it was tough. At least for me it was really hard. I'd be curious if the people that made this made anything else.

Anyway, if you have a guess as to what this game is, I'd appreciate the help.

Broken Sword sounded right but the visuals were more cartoonish than I remembered...

However..that game led me to the one I'm actually thinking of...

Post Mortem

My answer wasn't a joke, I was totally serious. The game you described sounded like something designed for children or someone mentally challenged.

Glad you found the game though. You can do it!

Well, if you're looking for alternative, the best game that more or less similar to your description is, of course, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.
