If it didn't have Joss's name to it, I wouldn't have finished watching the pilot. As it stands now I don't think I'll watch any more.

"Dollhouse does not suck, it is sucked."
I'm a fan of Whedon's overall body of work, but I haven't lost my mind like the more hardcore fans. The basic concept of Dollhouse sounds, at best, only mildly interesting, and I don't think that Dushku has the range to handle her role.

The first episode was OK. Didn't see the second. The third was TERRIBLE. The fourth was OK. It's not doing much for me. And I don't plan on staying home to watch it every friday night.

In last week's Onion, Dushku said that Whedon didn't write episodes 2-5. She claims that episode 6 will be great.

I'm intrigued by the overarching storyline of the function of the Dollhouse and the mystery behind Alpha. Too bad that storyline is overarching such a crappy show.

Like Mr. Bistro, I had planned to stop watching it, too. Then I read this article. When the lead in a series tells you that the later episodes are really what the show was meant to be, she's completely admitting that the first ones sucked. Or it's just a ploy. Of course they'll say the next ones are better! That way we'll keep watching.
But to be fair, I thought the first season of Angel totally sucked. But since the entire series was on DVD and was 5 seasons long, I knew it had to get better. Which it did. But I do not have such insurance from Dollhouse.
Other than Dushku's word of course.

First season of Buffy also sucked. Not as bad as Angel but still sucked.

Yeah, the first season of Buffy does kind of suck too. But not as much as Angel or Dollhouse.

The show is also based around a character who needs to be played by someone with the acting chops to suddenly be radically different people. And Dushku ain't it. She was such a good Faith in Buffy, because that the only role she knows how to play. Her being cast in this show was a mistake.
