Probably because of 1 or 2 Fatties following the link.

We can still make or break this movie!

Masters of the Universe would be awesome -- as long as it was better than the D&D movie from a couple of years ago, which I don't know how it wouldn't be as long as they make sure not to cast a Wayans.

Supposedly its going to be an origin story ala Batman Begins.

Michael Bay would also transport a group of marines to Eternia, where they get wrapped up in the struggle and get more screen time than He-Man, Skeletor, Prince Adam, and Beast Man combined.

Well, that would go nicely with the old he-man film, where the human characters got more screentime than the Eternians.
Not that I'm complaining though - Lubic was the fucking man! They should have done an action figure of him.

Actually it pretty much sounded like a batman begins ripoff.

I'd totally go see a Green Acres movie. I loved that show on Nick at Night when I was a kid.

I often criticize HOllywood for it's seeming lack of originality but I did enjoy the Star Trek movie because it was pretty much a re-imagining of Star Trek while staying close to the roots of Star Trek. But geeze, do they have scour every old TV show for a new movie idea? Have they seriously run out of ideas?

No, they've run out of money. Its a safer bet to go with existing properties with built-in fanbases than take a risk on something new. Or just copy something that was successful overseas. Not to say they don't still do some original stuff, but the big investments are going towards more secure payouts.

I'd like to see a few of these remakes bomb miserably.

What's interesting is that what people will go see is good movies. They don't care about remakes or whatever.

I'm OK with that. They've ran out of money, they take old stories and make a movie about that... but why, oh why do they have to fuck up the story...

Take Spider-Man/X-Men: great story, tons of awesome characters, lots of plots/stories. Did they HAVE to change the story? really?
