Jesus Christ Skelly....REALLY?

Ok Frank, so I'm running a few errands today and pop into a thrift store to see if any decent games are floating about. Nothing decent, though a few I can resell for some decent coin, which is always a bonus.

Then, on the way out, I spy this box for $1...still factory sealed, though scuffed up, with a great big MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE! logo splashed across it.

I amble over to pick it up when I see exactly what it is.

It is the bottom item featured in this auction [and these prices seem stupid to me, but I'm not a MOTU collector, so who knows]:

What kind of fucking villain rides an ATTACK SQUID?

$72 for those 2 vehicles? This guy is smoking drugs no way that will sell.

In the original 1980s line the vehicles were mixed, some were cool, some were crap. In the 2002 line (which is where Mr Squid is from) they were nearly universally crap. The attack squid is actually one of the better ones, believe it or not. I actually forgot the thing actually came with a Skeletor figure, jesus Christ Mattel had no fucking idea what they were doing with that line.

Anyway I never understood why every vehicle was seeminglt ridden only by the main 2 guys. Why wouldn't you have the Attack Squid be Mermans? Skeletor rides panthor, and thats all he needs.

I don't know why the squid wasn't Merman's either. Just like I always wondered why the flying eagle that would perch top of Grayskull wasn't Stratos' pet or something.
