Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;
Two games enter! One game leaves!
Trashdome - Samurai Swords VS Fortress America

Fortress America

Played Fortress: America several times. Still think the partisan cards can screw over the US player too easily but can easily punish an invader that overextends too fast. Always had fun with this one.
Easy vote. Fortress:America.

Feh. Played Shogun once, hated it. Got taken out of the game early because of ninja attacks on my daimyos. Played Blood Bowl while they finished.
I think Blood Bowl is the clear winner here.

But then. I also like A Dog's Life. Again, it needs some house rules, and the translator probably deserves a kick for screwing up one crucial sentence about piddle markers.
There ya have it folks. If Frank likes it, it can't be bad. So I say "A Dog's Life" in the Trashdome... vs. Battlebore.

How can anyone think that one single Ninja is cooler than hordes of hovertanks, attack copters, and space based lasers that bring annihilation from the sky?
The hillbilly reinforcements (or partisans, as some call them) only add to the greatness that is Fortress: America.
I don't know what the Japanese equivalent of "Wolverines!" is, but I doubt it is as much fun to shout at the gaming table. For those playing the invaders (at least the southern ones) you also get the joy of barking out "Fuego!" each time you take a shot at the little green gringo units.
To me, F:A is a lot like a good game of Ogre. You know that if you don't get a handle on the lumbering beast early, it's going to bring the pain and show no mercy.
Vote- Fortress: America

I also think that a copy of Fortress America should be included in a welcome pack given out to anyone who registers with F:At.

Shogun/Samurai Swords has the ninja...but Japan is overdone in geek circles.
So Fortress America.

This match kind of lost steam. It seems that the SHOGUN crowd was too busy freaking out over OMG A NINJA!

Great, now we've got possible vote fraud for SHOGUN.
I'll count that vote towards the Dirk Henn game instead.
