Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Damn! One more vote for MB shogun and I could have said it beats Wussistein 24/7!
Calling for one late voter!

On that day you'll become a man, your love of cubes will be over, and you'll appreciate the grown-ups' games.

In my feudal Japan peasants merely produce food and weapons and supply front line troops...what is this "revolt" bullshit, get back to work.

I'll take my stinking ninja turd any day over some whiney cube worshiping bohemian peasant.

I hope this trashdome was merely an excuse to gather a list for the F:AT ninja to work with...

We've got Vichy Barnes voting in Trashdome. Where is Freedom Fighter Barnes?

Sure, I'll be the asshole this time. Down with villagers, up with plastic ninjas.

In my opinion, both in this case are good games. I cannot quarrel for anyone voting for Shogun. They are different types of games and for what it is, Queen's game *Shogun* is very well presented. I'm not a fan of the cube tower overall but it is appropriate for the scope of that game.

Meanwhile, Queen Games took great care in building a great *gameplay* experience from the standpoint of other components. The game gives you lots to consider and is well balanced in terms of what you have to approach to be successful. Obviously, it's not just military.

Samurai Swords allows for more "cardboard generalship" and has a stronger military focus. The bidding element adds a fun amount of tension and has a lot of flavor. I was really hoping that Eagle Games would have been afforded the opportunity to remake this one and potentially update it a bit. That didn't happen. But even if it didn't get updated, I think this game still holds up very well.

I tend to like the not so overly complicated historical simulations in these types of boardgames. That's my overall preference and why I voted for Samurai Swords (Shogun).

Shogun (MB) all the way. The new euro crap with the same name is lame.
