WFB was created by Matt Thrower
I got my old Warhammer Fantasy armies down from the loft the other day: thinking about selling them.

Took a few photos, although my camera set-up isn't really very good. I never seem to be able to get enough light on the subject without a flash, and that washes out all the details. But this one wasn't too bad. My painting has gone way downhill now - out of practice.

Would you like to see any more?

That looks great. I'm amazed that you got that detail in the eyes. Do you use a pin or toothpick something? I have a tiny brush (size 000) but still it doesn't turn out well.

Hehe, I've never seen a vampire with such a huge-ass sword. Looks good Matt.

I went to a Games Workshop store today and was blown away by the professionalism of the store, the staff, and the number of customers there. One of the employees was teaching three kids how to play using a store army and I was eating it up. I have to decide if I like WHFB or 40K. I think I'm totally going to start.

A very nice paint job.

Now is a good time in the WHFB cycle to be selling a Vampire Counts army. They are currently a top tier army, and highly desirable.

It was partly luck, and just knowing the tricks of the trade. To get the red lining on the eyes, just paint them red first, and then dab white over the top. If you're having trouble doing the pupils use a fine-point black permanent marker instead of paint.

Vampires with huge choppers were a common sight of sixth edition, because the weapon gave them a strength of 7, which was enough to auto-destruct a chariot on a single hit.

Yes Matt, go ahead and post more. Vampires (undead in general) were my first Warhammer army.

That miniature is actually a lot older than that and dates from at least 4th edition (early-mid 90's). It's great because it can stand for a Lord or Count, regular hand weapon or great weapon. Back in 4th edition it was the only non special character vampire figure available. It kind of gives this Bella Lugosi feeling too.

Rebase them as a Hordes of the Things army and you could make a couple of armies. A friend of mine , is currently doing that with my Warhammer ratling horde, picture 6000 points of Skaven turned into a whole mass of armies.

Tim is going to keep them at his place (which is great because it clears up space at my place) because we only play HotT at his place.
