I'll be making sure that I get you a trucking game and make you play it.

Obviously, the first thing that people want to do on Christmas Day is play a fucking game all about their job when they are on holiday from their job.

Good call.

Lol, that reminds me of a good on the spot joke I made yesterday. I go to xmas dinner at my aunt and uncles and there's this elderly priest sitting in the barcolounger. They introduce me to father McRory and I notice he's watching a church service on TV. I immediately say, "hi Father, hey do you like watching work on your time off ? It would be like if I watched an insurance company on TV where people don't really do anything "

...hmmm..it was funny at the moment. Maybe it was the Bailey's...

Andrew, why so sour? If you actually read what I wrote you would notice that word "volunteer" in there. It is not what they do for a living. It's what they do for excitement and to help out the community. It'd be like if I got you a game about drinking as much alcohol as possible. Sure you do that in the hopes of showing the community just how much abuse and debauchery a human body can take but you might like a game about it too.

Now stop trying to be mean and get back to losing our ASL game.

We tried a game of Can't Stop and the kids got bored and quit when dinner was served.

My brother in-law always likes playing games, so we dedicated Christmas night to doing so.

First we played Evolution with my wife. This was their first time and they seemed to really enjoy it. They held their own against me and my brother in-law ended up winning, 75 to my 73 and my wife's 66. Very close game.

My brother, his girlfriend, and my brother in-law's girl friend came over as the night went on so we broke out my new copy of Mysterium. Holy Moley is this a cool game. It has more than a fair share of Dixit in it, making it into a vastly more satisfying game and has an awesome, unique theme (psychics holding a seance to communicate with a ghost, trying to figure out who murdered them, where and with what). I played the ghost first, an experience that manages to be as fun as playing Dracula in FoD but in a co-op environment. The group almost won and everyone immediately demanded to reset it and play it again. My wife played the ghost the second time around, still didn't win. This was on "easy mode." Everyone at the table absolutely _LOVED_ this game, myself included. It completely bypasses the AI feature of co-ops and manages to be 100% free of the faults I typically have with them.

Speaking of co-ops, I played 2 games of Warhammer Quest ACG this morning. Both games the first quest, but with 2 heroes in one, the other 2 in the second. It's quite good. I always like the feeling of teamwork in a co-op, something that manages to not be baked into the design, and this game has it in spades. Better than Death Angel? Maybe. Probably. I lost both games. I'll be back at it soon enough.

Mysterium is a great game -- we are going to be playing it some more this week.

I bought Pandemic Legacy for my wife for xmas, since Pandemic is her favorite game. We played our first game of the campaign this evening, it was great. Looking forward to playing through the rest. As I think I've mentioned here before I think Pandemic is a really well designed game but it sort of leaves me cold these days. The Legacy bits add a nice splash of unique stuff into it to grab my attention.

I'm almost speechless. The thought of anyone being bored during Can't Stop just sends me into a spiral of confusion. That and lack of sleep, that will do it too.

I played a couple of games of good old fashioned Catan this weekend. I guess it's not "Settlers of" anymore, but that's OK. Still a fun game, though I never really played it all that much during it's heyday.
