The actual puzzle aspects are minimal, since the game itself keeps you on track and doesn't punish you for failure. You can pretty much make forward progress by trial and error. The reason I'm still playing is that it has a charm and style that are really endearing, and I want to see how everything resolves. It was worth the .99.

I always hated that the final boss was so hard, and that once you went to the final castle, you were stuck and couldn't go back. It's a long and arduous slog through the final area in the original Final Fantasy.Black Barney wrote: I can't seem to beat Chaos (final boss fight) in Final Fantasy. He's too tough! Final Fantasy III just came out for WP7 too, but it's like 16 bucks, they're out of their minds.

My username seems to be hotseatgames but I'm not entirely sure.

It has just the right amount of puzzle, a dash of story/theme, and I love that it is turn based.

My only quibble now is that it feels done since I (finally) got past the 16th level. I thought there would be more campaigns, and presumably there might be at some point. Sure, I could play more and try to beat my score or get more achievements, but it felt like such an accomplishment to finish it (I'd been to the 16th level three times before but failed to beat it) that I don't really feel the urge to go through it all again. But if there was another campaign with some different wrinkles and new monsters, sure, I'd love to. So yeah, it's a great little game, but I hope they offer a sequel sometime soon.

Still a good game, but a new scenario would be very cool.

Empire: The Deck-Building Strategy Game
I seem to remember people feeling very blah about it.
Also I'm now playing SolForge as Legomancer

Haven't played it but the Pocket Tactics crew were favorable to it www.pockettactics.com/reviews/review-empire/

This time my Archmage got his lone healing spell on Level 2! So now I'm rolling along at ease. Also doing the Skaven quests to switch things up.

Hoplite is OK...it didn't really hold my interest beyond a couple of days though. Solid concept, could use some more development.
Empire seems really interesting...but then it just isn't. The battle resolution is terrible and the "survive as long as you can" thing is a pretty crummy meager goal with there's just a very short upgrade cycle.
