Why do I watch such crap? - Ghost Whisperer
I really don't know why we watch this, but it is just so relaxing. It's like having a couple of frozen "girly" drinks after work, but without the calories or the hangover.

Yes, absolutely, they're just different kinds of shows---and sports. Spartacus Blood and Sand is a great example of this.

The A-Team
Hogan's Heroes
Every Fast and Furious Movie
Bay Watch
I'm sure there are plenty more.

That one show where people whore their daughters out to beauty pagents at embarrassingly young ages is the worst one I can think of. It just gives those slime balls a reason to do what they do; "Hey, dress you pre-teen daughter up as a slut and we'll put her on t.v." Sounds great right?
I don't even know what it's called but that is the worst show I know of.
Personally, all I watch right now is Hockey and Buffy. I'm on season 6 and I love it (although not as much as his other shows).

The worst thing about t.v. is unscripted television.
Don't even get me started on Operation Repo. The show makes me enraged.
I have a crap weakness for Kitchen Nightmares. Fuck. Ramsay should open a game store and do reviews.
The best part is when the owner of a shit hole that's about to go belly up starts telling Gordon (Mr. Millionaire-world class-successful restauranteer) Ramsay that he doesn't know what he's talking about and the chef is going to keep doing what he's been doing.

Instead, I just stopped watching television. Completely. I realized that I was only watching:
1. depressing news broadcasts featuring corporate Ken and Barbie
2. too many reality tv shows
3. whatever else was on, just because
So I stopped, and I haven't really missed it. Once in a while, I want to watch something in particular. So I download it and watch in on the computer. Unless it's sports, which can be a real pain to see online for free, because the pro sports crowd is still too stupid to grasp the potential for online advertising.
Otherwise, I just use my television set for watching movies. Unfortunately, watching movies has become a new problem, because the video rental store has almost completely vanished from the Twin Cities. No, I don't want to fucking watch a movie on a small computer screen instead of on my big screen tv. And besides, bandwidth is becoming a problem on weekend nights, because lots of Americans are streaming their movie rentals from Netflix or whatever.
So this is totally ridiculous, but now when a friend or two are at my place and want to watch a movie, we tend to go buy a dvd. First we check my dvd collection to see if there is anything they want to see. If not, we go to a local pawnshop or thrift store and buy a used movie for $3, which is pretty comparable to what I paid a couple of years ago for movie rentals.
Realistically, I need to look at connecting my tv to the internet and then stream my rentals from an online service. But until the bandwidth issue is resolved, I don't feel motivated yet.

Toddlers and Tiaras. I know this because my kids watch this when I'm not watching them. They also watch the one about extreme couponing, which is basically ok, and the one about extreme kid parties (where the parents spend up to around $35k on a party for a 6yo), which is not.
