Is the original VHS Star Wars trilogy worth anything?

Several threads have mentioned the changes made to various scenes over the years. So I was wondering if the original VHS Star Wars slip case trilogy was worth anything? The dates/running times are: 1977/118 mins, 1980/119 mins, and 1983/126 mins; no idea whether that helps at all. Thanks.

I doubt it. The untampered originals were released on DVD a few years ago.

I gave mine to a buddy and didn't think twice.

No, a non-anamorphic release of the films with the quality of a laserdisc was released a few years ago.


I don't think they are valuable given you can easily find better prints on the internet and despecializaced editions have gotten very far.

Thanks everyone! I had the impression from comments on F:AT that there'd been changes made over the years and the original version was not available. Glad to hear that impression was wrong as I can add the trilogy to the pile that's going to the charity shop.

I have no idea. VHS doesn't age well. Maybe the Betamax version is worth something?
