As a fan of Luc Besson I'm definitely seeing this. Looks like a lot of fun too.

Yeah I enjoy most of Luc Besson's work. This could be incredible. Sadly, I don't see it finding a huge audience in the US. It's based on a French comic or novel I believe. I'm always interested in fantasy or sci-fi films that aren't based on super well known properties. Still, I hope it's a worldwide hit instead.

If this is a stand alone film...I'm in at the theater.

If it's part one of a franchise or series...I'll wait and catch it at home.

I'm all in.

I love not knowing anything at all about a new sci-fi epic, and this looks gorgeous. It could still be Jupiter Ascending, but I trust Luc Besson.

No more trailers for me! I want to be astonished and surprised!

The Valerian comic artwork is cool, I might have to check it out before seeing the movie.

I think that this Valerian character looks a lot like the Chaos Warrior from Heroquest?

There hasn't been a great Luc Besson film in too long. And The Fifth Element, one of his best, is hugely inspired by Euro SF like Valerian. So I hope this is awesome, but it will almost certainly flop in the US.

This is so sad. Lots of grand vistas, but I'm not moved at all.

So I hope the story, characters & atmosphere is good.

My only takeaways are that it looks a ton like fifth element, I'm attracted to the heroine, and I'm wondering if Besson intentionally put a cuter version of Milla just to piss off his ex

I hope it flops in the u.s.
Because that means it will actually be good.
General american audiences either don't get or appreciate the French touch to story telling, which is why I beleive heavy metal has always been so fringe.
Sure, it has a lot of fans, but not 800 million dollar type of fans that require a blockbuster status.

I'm all in.

Crayons, those first two sentences are funny but are they actually true? Genuinely curious

Science Fiction films in the US? Absolutely true.
