I don't know. Does he die in the Richard Sharpe series? Granted I've only seen the first five or six, but I think this series goes on for a bit. Maybe in a dream sequence or something?

He never dies in Sharpe. The website is blocked at work but I would guess he is only shot in that scene.

Sharpe is a British TV series from the 90s and it's what made Bean's name. I've heard a rumour that he likes inserting a reference to Sharpe in films he stars in (e.g. in Fellowship of the Ring he picks up the shards of Narsil and says "Still Sharpe."
