Sci-Fi book Question (perhaps to Chapel??) was created by Space Ghost
Awhile back, someone mentioned some classic sci-fi books in graphic novel or comic book (??) form. I thought it was Chapel -- may have been Pete -- can someone refresh my shitty memory?

Is
this
it? A simple search through the blogs for science fiction turned it up, and you're right, there are a ton of great recommandations here.
Ok, so these aren't necessarily comics or graphic novels, but still.

Yes, DC did a selection of graphic novels between 85-87 for some real oddball scifi stories that include:
Hell on Earth by Robert Bloch
Nightwings by Robert Silverberg
Frost and Fire by Ray Bradbury
The Merchants of Venus by Frederik Pohl
Demon with a Glass Hand by Harlan Ellison
The Magic Goes Away by Larry Niven,
Sandkings by George R. R. Martin
An interesting collection.

That's the one I was dying to find. Got a Bradbury anthology for 2$ at the second-hand store. Just as good as I remember whilst sitting in detention (again).
Still, can't hold a candle to Burroughs' most excellent John Carter series.

Add "A Fire Upon the Deep" by Vernor Vinge to my list. Seriously, DON'T BE A FUCKING MORON. Read that book.

There is also an Epic Graphic Novel "The Complete Alfred Bester's The Stars My Destination" with illustrations by Howard Chaykin. Probably my favorite.
www.amazon.com/Complete-Alfred-Besters-S...nation/dp/0871358816
has some examples of the illustrations.
