BGG Security Breach

Anyone else get am email saying that there was a potential security breach and for details click such and such link? I NEVER click links in those kinds of emails. Seemed somewhat legit, but I never trust em. Anyone else get that?

I changed my password. Crisis averted.

The crisis continues if they can decrypt a soft password and you use it on other web sites.

I use my lowest level password for BGG because I just don't care if someone cracks my account. Anything involving money has a different password. If you use the same password on other sites they could be at risk.

Use a stupid password you never use for anything else for sites like BGG... that's what I do.

I got one. Yet I haven't been a member for several years. Perhaps one of their admins could explain why they still have my details after I asked them to delete the account?

Was it deleted? If not, what's the username? If yes, then you have some other account with the same verified email address.

I'm trying to help. If you received an email then there is an account on the site with your email as a verified email address. If it's verified then someone clicked the verification link in the email we sent when the account was created. If you didn't make that account then someone has access to your email.

PM me or email me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with the email address the notification was sent to and I'll track it down.

Well, I didn't want to simply say 'yes' as I cannot remember after all this time, whether I actually checked. Since you went with "If no" and "If yes", I answered the one that should apply.
