if you want to be rude, just say booh.

Also How (Hou) means good, yes, i agree, etc. Very useful word. And Nee How is hello. SheerSheer is thankyou. Wor Yow is I want. Just use this and point at stuff. Most folks on the markets have an I Phone or a pocket calculator, they'l get it out and dial something silly then hand it too you. Just press divide and a number and give it back. Repeat a bit, then walk off and see if they chase you. I typically bought things for about 40-60% the original asking price.

I've spelled them all English phonetically. Its worth picking up a phrase book, the lonely planet one is not too shabby.

My work trip to China a few years ago was one of the few times I have been truly fearful for my life. My Chinese work colleagues drove me to Tianjin from Beijing for a meeting, and while there with no knowledge of language of really where I was (and how to get away from them and back to Beijing and my flight home), got me drunk, hired a prostitute for me and asked me to smuggle stuff back to Australia.

Check to see if their ATMs can take 4-6 digit PINs now. If not, switch over to 4 digit if you need to. It can save a LOT of hassle.

Sounds like a normal vacation to me...
