As far as a Halloween costume, I thought of throwing something together and going to work dressed as Noah.

Here is my Hurricane Prediction for Connecticut (not to be confused with Baltimore/DC area):

Sheep, fueled by scare mongering media and an under appreciation in their own ability to cope, will over react and/or become paralyzed by fear. They will abrogate their own decision making abilities and bleat for the altruistic shepherd that is government to tell them what they ought or ought not do.

They will shove down the memory hole any and all recollection of previous weather events, that while not pleasant, were survived and dealt with as they happened. This will be viewed as the most horrific destructive moment in their lives until the next most horrific storm.

When and if they lose power, and this condition lasts for more than an hour, they will seek a scapegoat for their discomfort. They will not gain an appreciation for the miracle that is the default state of uninterrupted and limitless power in their lives. They will see the unavoidable as an affront and wish someone who had no control over the limitations of the physical universe to be blamed and punished.

Look, the unhyped weather has there being a period of winds under 35mph and gusts up to 50 and it will all be over by tomorrow morning. We aren't even in the storm track! Sigh, my rant is over.

Storm track isn't the issue. The wind bands on this thing are huge. They'll reach from New England to the Carolinas.

The biggest issue is for folks along the shore. High lunar tide coupled with winds whipping from the ocean to inland will bring the water level up 10 feet or so.

When they're forecasting 15-25 foot waves ON LAKE ERIE (also not near the storm path) then you know shit is ridiculous.

Tree just came down in a friend's backyard a couple of towns over from us. Missed the house, but totally took out their grill :)

A crane apparently just came down in Manhattan. WV is experiencing blizzard conditions, so I expect we'll end up with flooding next week if they get a quick melt. This one is looking to be just dismal...

It takes Obama to declare a state of emergency in long island, but my postal facitily is closed. No OT for me. When my facility closes, THAT scares the crap out of me. Im taking a Xanax, and hope to have power to talk to you guys later.

Take care, all you affected. I'd find an opponent and bunker down for Victory in the Pacific.
