This has been a heckish year. I battled anxiety and depression in the midst of a wonderfully successful year with my business and family. It's only been 3 or 4 months since getting the biology under control, and now I'm working on undoing horrible counterproductive coping mechanisms.
Writing daily thank you notes has been a very helpful practice, I've recently picked up for reframing the end of my workday.
Anyhoo, I have two big thank you's for today :
Uba - Thank you for the kind words last year. They were encouraging. I didn't take your advice right away. I should have. They did make a difference.
Gary - Thank you sending me Eldritch Horror and the expacs on your dime. I've had a dozen sessions with my adult girls - easily a days worth of quality time with them. Recently someone started a game meet up at our library...the type of thing I would have been in the middle of putting together myself a couple years ago. But with anxiety....I've had a year of coming up with excuses to not do things that I desperately love to do. LSS : My wife walked me to the car and sent me down with Eldritch a bit ago. Played with guys that hadn't played it. They had a blast. I had a blast. They couldn't read social cues and set up a follow session to play it again despite my skill at avoiding future commitments to social events that I would totally enjoy. And I haven't flaked out on a meet up yet.
Pay it forward for Gary : This weekend I gave 4 rubber maid tubs of terrain and heroes for Heroscape to a dad and his two wildly grinning twin 12 year old boys. #Feelsgoodman

This was good for me today, it has been an extremely dark month commuting. Thank you and I'm glad you got positive experiences and vibes from EH, especially with your family.

Awww. Thank you boothwah.
I've had a shitty couple of weeks and this post made me realize I need to shut down that whiney voice in my own head and count my blessings. So thank you for that too.
