Game quote reference? "This is me, etc."?? was created by Grudunza
I'm trying to write an article for F:AT and I need a reference for a quote that I've seen referenced here before but can't seem to find now. It goes something like, "This is me, this is my stuff", referring to knowing who you are on the board and what you can do with it. Can anybody tell me that quote exactly and who said it originally?

That seems pretty close to the original, but I believe Branham is the source.

Yea, Barnes refers to that quote as "The Branham Test."

The Branham Test -- "This is me, those are mine"
That's Barnes' quote from the Small World thread. The magic of Google.
To me it always sounded like people, not items. I suppose I brought that aspect of the concept to the picture when I first read it.
Sag.

My original thought is that you should ideally be able to point to an object on the board and say "This is Me." It can be a pawn, a leader token, or what have you.
But at the very least, you should be able to say "those are mine."
Many abstract games (especially tile laying and social games) completely lack those aspects, but quite a few Euros are missing that simple aspect.

Thanks for the answer... Sorry for wasting your time on that, in essence, but I ended up pulling the quote from the article. I thought it would work in context, but it didn't quite correlate to the subject the way I thought it would when I read it back again this morning.
