2. Dogfight. My dad got me Battle Cry a year earlier, but it was too hard to learn.
3. Intruder. I was a huge fan of Alien, and it was obvious that this boardgame was based on the movie.
4. Same as 3. I was already hooked on RPGs like D&D by the time I could afford to buy my own boardgames, so I was looking for AT-style themes.

Who knows? Probably HI HO CHERRY O, CANDYLAND, one of those kinds of things. I do remember having this really awesome rocket race game when I was really little, it had some really 1950s style artwork and had Sputnik in there (I remember the card).
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
DUNGEON!
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
DUNGEON!
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
Yep- DUNGEON! I don't remember if I got this or STAR FRONTIERS first, but those were my first two hobby games.

Talisman
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?

I'm pretty sure is was the Game Of Life.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
My first AT game would either have to be Conquest of Empire or OGRE/GEV. I can't remember which one I got first. Both were gifts. Somewhere around 1984-85
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
The first game I bought with my own scratch would have to be Dungeons & Dragons Computer Labyrinth Game
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
Well, if you don't consider the D&D game Ameritrashy enough, then it would have to be Car Wars or Gammarauders. Sometime around 1988-89. To play out to sea.

2. Dark Tower (yeah, I had one. No fucking clue where it went.)
3. Hmm. Car Wars, I think. Either that or one of the TSR pocketbox games was first.
4. See above...
then I gave up games (except an occasional chess match) for about 5 or 6 years, the answers then would be:
2b: Cosmic Encounter (Mayfair edition)
3b: Talisman (GW 2nd edition)
4b: Talisman (as above)

I can't believe I'm the first to say Monopoly (checkers and Chess would have been around the same time - I learnt Chess early).
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Dogfight - family game for us three boys one Christmas (Hit the Beach doesn't quite qualify, but you all may differ so I have stuck it in).
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
Dungeon (along with Magic Realm, Stellar Conquest, and Godsfire in one order from the US).
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
Dungeon (the others never got played due to living in a small town limiting who I could play against).

Hard to remember but it's probably EXCUSES!EXCUSES!EXCUSES! I remember playing that in elementary school and LOVING IT. The worst card was I SPILLED MY YOGOURT. It was a fun game of trying to get to work using different modes of transportation and using really good and awful excuses as to why you're late. GAME OF LIFE is a close 2nd.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
DUNGEON
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
DUNGEON - I bought it in a used book store in St-Johnsbury, Vermont when i used to go to a cabin in the summer. Looked like fun so I bought it. I actually played it by myself with 4-5 imaginary friends. TONS OF FUN
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
DUNEGON

No idea. Must have been something common like Checkers or Monopoly. Definitely not Candyland. I didn't even realize that existed until I saw people hating on it at BGG two years ago.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
I can't be sure, but I think it was The Sorcerer's Cave. Loved that game.
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
Either Talisman, or Illuminati and Car Wars (bought them at the same time). I was lucky; my father bought a lot of games, so I didn't need to. Otherwise I'm sure I would have bought some earlier ones like Melee.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
Whichever was #3.

1. What was the first boardgame that you played?
Probably Candy Land. That's the earliest thing I can remember.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Either Talisman or DungeonQuest. Space Hulk or Aliens are both possibilities as well, but I'm almost positive it was one of those four, and most likely Talisman. I don't know, man, I was 5 or 6 at the time.
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
I didn't really buy board games when I was little. The first games I remember getting for Christmas were mass-market tie-ins based on E.T. and Centipede.
I'm not sure why my parents would have bought them for me since I was only 4, couldn't read, and didn't have any siblings who wouldn't eat the pieces. My only guess is that I had caught a glimpse of a Pac-Man board game once and was obsessed with that. Maybe they thought I'd like the pieces or something.
The first game I remember getting because I actually asked for it was either Mouse Trap or Lie Detector.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
Probably Apache, but possibly X-Men: Alert!.
I never really needed to buy board or video games when I was a kid. My dad had all that shit anyway, and stuff like Back off Buzzard, that I wanted and he didn't, I'd just get for Christmas.

2. Wizard's Quest in 1st Grade.
3. All Star Baseball (the one with the player discs and games were played with Spinnners...found it at a flea market on what was otherwise an extremely boring outing with the parents).
4. Dungeon and Samurai Swords with some Christmas Money.

No idea, but I remember playing Monopoly, Clue and Squatter as a small kid. My daughter's first game was Carcassonne which scares me a bit.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Crossbows and Catapults. And as a small child there were house rules and other home brewed expansions, such as being able to choose one weapon to upgrade the rubber bands on.
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
I think it was Car Wars in the video cassette box. Outside chance of Talisman as I have no idea where I got that from. Maybe it was the Warlock of Firetop Mountain which I found at a thrift store.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
See above.

2. Wizard's Quest in 1st Grade.
Yikes. I wouldn't have been able to tangle with an AH rulebook in 1st grade.
I remember being given Car Wars (just the original game) when I was pretty young and not being able to do anything with it just because I had no idea how a car worked. I was used to playing Nintendo driving games, where there was no such thing as drifting, you could turn as sharply as you wanted to matter how fast you were going, and there were no speeds other than "full" and "stop."
