Either Chess, Checkers or Snakes and Ladders. Actually played a lot of boardgames when I was a kid, including Candyland (aunt brought it over from the US) Monopoly, Pictionary and Games of the Generals (a local version of Stratego). Oh and Mancala, though we called it sungka.
Then fast forward 20ish years and the first "modern" boardgame I played was Puerto Rico.
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Last Night on Earth. It felt strangely weird and clunky, I recently bought this game and it's much much better than how I remembered it 2 years ago.
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
Ticket to Ride. And Carcassonne.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
BattleLore. So, so so very sad. Since BattleLore doesn't really count, I'm going with Heroscape.

2. Wizard's Quest in 1st Grade.
Yikes. I wouldn't have been able to tangle with an AH rulebook in 1st grade.
I remember being given Car Wars (just the original game) when I was pretty young and not being able to do anything with it just because I had no idea how a car worked. I was used to playing Nintendo driving games, where there was no such thing as drifting, you could turn as sharply as you wanted to matter how fast you were going, and there were no speeds other than "full" and "stop."
My mom helped walk me through it....the whole family used to have these big Risk tournamens on the holidays, so the combat wasn't too much. I remember thinking that the Orc Generation was the coolest thing ever. At first, we just played it like Risk with Orcs....then we gradually added the Wizard/Knight, Dragon, and Peacemaker.
Still holds a soft spot in my heart....I never turn down a game of WQ.

Not sure. My first memory of a game is either some game where you travelled around the world and put little red pegs in the board. I definitely remember the city Nome being kind of funny sounding.1. What was the first boardgame that you played?
Again, not really sure but I think it would have been either Illuminati or The Awful Green Things or Nuclear War. Both of those got a lot of play in my teens.2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Probably The Awful Green Things since it was a TSR product and I was a D&D fan in my teens.3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
Again, probably The Awful Green Things. Still have my original copy. I've got it for trade but not sure if I should keep it around for when my kids get older.4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?

Does Fantasy Forrest count as AT? It's got goblins in it, so I say it does, and I LOVED that game. I was playing D&D at 4 thanks to my nerdy family (AD&D era fighters were pretty fucking easy to roll with "I go stab that orc! Ok, roll the die..."
First game I bought was I think Heroquest. I was buying D&D stuff before that though.

That's the first Ameritrash game I had with both card combat and pre-painted miniatures. How avant garde!

Dunno. Candyland, Monopoly, The Game of Life?
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
Risk, if that's too mainstream, then Conquest of the Empire
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
The first boardgame I bought with my own money was probably one of those really cheap Chess set from Walmart.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?

2, 3, 4) Talisman Talisman and Battletech were the first real games that were available in The Czech Republic after the revolution so I had no other choice

1. What was the first boardgame that you played?
2. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you played?
This and Scrabble are the only two boardgames my dad ever played with me when I was growing up. The game is still unbelievably good.
3. What was the first boardgame that you bought?
Every play pretty quickly turned into my brother and I shooting the little marbles at each other (we eventually lost all of them), and the battlements never seemed to work right, but _man_ was it fun picking off the little knight dudes and makin' that castle explode all over the place. There might even have been rules for a game in there, I'm not sure.
4. What was the first AmeriTrash boardgame that you bought?
See above. Then, on a whim eight years later:
