Aaron, I guess what you're referring to is a Blutwurst, which contains about 20-40% fresh blood.

Or it might be a Leberwurst containing circa 10-15% liver.

That is class. Much respect to the man who shows up at my house with a briefcase full of sausages.

When I was younger, I did an exchange trip with a french family. They had a variety of preserved sausages, salamis and pates, which are on the whole fantastic. They had some interesting ones. One was the face of the pig: the ears, snout, lips, cheeks and eyebrows of a pig as a kind of pate/salami thing. It was surprisingly nice. However, there was another one they had that looked and smelled like a cowpat coated in wax.
I asked, "What is that one?"
I was told, "You don't want to know."
I said, "No, I really do want to know."
They said, "No, no, you don't. You should try some and see if you like it."
"No...Thank you."

Damn. Now I want some Sauerkraut.

But what's really disturbing about this is the sheer loving care with which the sausages have been allocated their own carefully shaped spaces and the whole put thoughtfully into a carry case. I mean, these are sausages not carefully painted wargame figures ... if you want to carry a bunch of sausages around, what's wrong with a freezer bag?

My first impression was that this was the props/make-up kit for some horror movie.
Director: "Hmmm, go get the briefcase. This scene needs more bloody intestines."
