The Ultimate AT Film

IRON WARRIOR, the third of the ATOR films, is definitely the best. They just showed it
on MGM HD the other day. It has better dinosaurs than JURASSIC PARK.

Hey speaking of AT films has anyone seen this yet?

http://www.cthulhuthemovie.com/

I've been dying to see it since it was in pre-production. It's a small budget, modern day adaptation of "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". I've read a few good reviews. Supposedly, it's beautifully shot, the male lead--despite being a complete unknown-- puts in a suprisingly strong performance, and the FX, though low budget and subtle, suggest just enough to set the audience's imagination off.

Some off the gripes are about the main character's homosexuality (christ, are we still hung up on that?), the fact that the film involves Cthulu and not Dagon, "as it should," and the the film may be hard to grok for non HPL fans.

I dunno, I got me a good feeling about this one.

I think the "Escape From ____" series are definitive ameritrash. First off, the name Snake Plissken, the most ridiculous name I have ever heard. Secondly, the name Cuervo Jones, the most ridiculous name I have ever heard. Then there's Kurt Russel's brilliant performance-enhancing decision to put on an eye-patch because, quote: "I just thought an eye-patch would look cool". And the President gets his hand chopped off. Also, CUERVO JONES. I think these movies are more ridiculous than Commando.

I saw the super-crappy sci-fi original knock-off of Shadow Over Innsmouth, but I think that was called "Dagon".

I dunno, I thought of Flash Gordon or Buckaroo Banzai when I saw this thread. May just be me...

My buddy and I watched Tarkan tonight. It was one of the worst films I have ever seen...and I loved every minute of it. There's another Turkish movie on the same disc called 'The Deathless Devil', which looks like it might approach Tarkan in awesomely-badness.

Put this in your Netflix queue now.

Sorry, you are all terribly off base. It's TARKAN VERSUS THE VIKINGS.

What could be more Ameritrash than:

- Barbarians

- Female Vikings in pink fur

- A giant octopus that fights a dog named Karl

- A mysterious Pan-asian snake lady that bursts into flame for no apparent reason

- The axe murder of a baby, followed up by the skewering of both mother and child

- The greatest moustache in the history of cinema

Wrap it all up with bootleg snippets of the scores to ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST and FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and you have, my friends, the ULTIMATE AT MOVIE BAR NONE.

Little late for the topic but I nominate Death Race 2000.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072856/

What other movie packs the power duo of Sly Stallone and David Carradine?

This movie originated the point system for hitting people when driving in the car. You know when you're driving around and someone busts out "Alright...100 pts if you hit him/her". Well here you can find the origins, and official, point system:

Harold: As the cars roar into Pennsylvania, the cradle of liberty, it seems apparent that our citizens are staying off the streets, which may make scoring particularly difficult, even with this year's rule changes. To recap those revisions: women are still worth 10 points more than men in all age brackets, but teenagers now rack up 40 points, and toddlers under 12 now rate a big 70 points. The big score: anyone, any sex, over 75 years old has been upped to 100 points.

Junior: All right, all right, and yes-sirree! A clean hit! A perfect hit! And no pain for the target. Too bad the guy was only thirty-eight; just two years older, he'd have been worth three times the points.

And it also appears Universal is doing a remake later this year (preview):

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Grindhouse.. especially Planet Terror is everything you can expect from the ultimate AT flick: guns, girls, gore, zombies.. heck, Bruce Willis as zombie lieutenant is enough to quarantee the tittle for this one.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes
Goonies
Terminator II
Dog Soldiers (actually British-Trash)
