I do agree with this point that Daredevil's plot was predictable, but in my opinion, execution counts for a lot. The plot was standard boilerplate crime drama, but it was executed well, with plenty of visual style (a bit more humor would have been welcome). Conversely, Agents of SHIELD, which you held up as a counter-example, is just a terrible, bland, soulless bit of corporate synergy. Sure, SHIELD has lots of plot twists. But the characters are utterly forgettable, and the show has no distinctive style or voice. Who cares about plot twists when you don't give a shit about any of the characters??

I finally finished Daredevil last night, and overall, I liked it a lot. I can't wait for the "Jessica Jones" show, which is a weird thing to say considering I've barely even heard of that character.

I'm looking forward to Jessica Jones. I like the actress (Breaking Bad, Apartment 23) and the wikipedia page on the character sounds interesting.

There were some great surprises and cool moments. I liked Madame Gau and will miss her. Also, Karen's response to Wesley. Wilson's background in all things Asian is interesting, and the appearance and disappearance of Nobu the ninja was cool. The Dark Sky--unexplained, weird and cool.

I agree that the show lays on too much violence, and that it is lazy writing at times. I kind of got tired of the fighting, to the point where it felt like they were using it to fill up dead spots in the script. Except for Nobu the ninja. That was fun. Agreed that Scott Glen was awesome, and the allusions to a portal, a secret world of ninjas, etc.

It was also interesting to see the changes in Fisk's girlfriend, as her need for power--importance--power, slowly transform her.

This was a perfectly fine, enjoyable superhero TV series. It's not The Americans, or even Justified, but it got me through 50 papers (36 left).

Awful show, every time I think about it, it becomes more mediocre
Lazy writing, lazy editing.
I thought his shtick was not killing anyone. So what, the Ninja committed suicide by deliberately head butting the oil lamp?? Crap.
Fisk's girlfriend was so utterly predictable, I can't even think about the details.
It's a basic superhero show, nothing special unless you are fan boy of the comic in which case I suppose it might mean more to you than it does to me.
