Has anyone else watched the new Syfy Expanse tv series? It evokes a Cyberpunk vibe like a combination of Blade Runner, Firefly, Neuromancer, Total Recall, and Battlestar Galactica. I thought it was well done.

I liked the first episode. More than I thought I would. I've read Leviathan Wakes, Caliban's War, and Abaddon's Gate so far. And what I was surprised with, is that they are actually following the book more than I thought they would. I am optimistic for this series...as long as they don't run out of money this season.

If anyone likes sci-fi and isn't watching this, they're a dumb asshole who's dumb. The first two episodes are kinda slow because of all the setup, but things have jumped off in episodes 3 and 4, and man, it's good. Seriously, get on this. Plus, they've already ordered season 2 for early 2017, so it sounds like it's got some legs.

My only problem with the show at the moment is that I think that season #1 is going to finish at about halfway through book #1. I wouldn't mind being proven wrong on that, though. Aside from that, I like it a lot. They've been sticking pretty close to the novel, and I'm starting to get used to the casting choices.

Episode 10 is titled "Leviathan Wakes", same as the book, so I thought it would conclude the first tome.

My guess is that 'Leviathan Wakes' refers to the protomolecule eating everything on Eros. Season 2 would pick up afterwards. Like I said, though, I wouldn't mind being wrong.

I don't think so. I went to
www.syfy.com/episodes
incognito, and could watch what SyFy was streaming without signing on. I don't think they care about your cable provider (surprisingly enough), but they might care whether or not you're going through a US ISP.

I've been able to get SyFy on Channel Pear, but the feeds keep dropping and you need to find the next one. That's real-time though, you can't download episodes.
