Looks ok. Vulture is lame. Green Goblin is the premier spiderman villain and if marvel isn't going to include him (like all the joker versions for the batman films), then Raimi's film will continue to be the premier one.

You know...already i feel left out because all the Tony stark and such. This film not going to be able to stand on its own? Too much interfilm connectivity in the MCU? Feels like I walked in on something.
(Haven't seen Civil War)

'We had about ten Spider-Man movies fail now. This time we'll just include everyone's favourite. Even if the movie sucks, we can still milk the goodwill the first Iron Man created. Still no word what this Spider-Man character is actually about?'

That trailer didn't thrill me like I would have liked. But I'm still hopeful.

edit- MGMT seems like a good fit.

It looks great! But I don't care! Another competent, faithful MCU film...we get 2-3 of those a year now. Whoop-de-do.

The wings were cute, thanks trailer wrapper for spoiling that.

Bank robbery was cute too.

Vulture, really? I'd rather have seen Kraven the Hunter or Mysterio. Rhino even.

Someone explain to me why this series is rebooted every three years.

Also, Marvel movies just kinda feel like strung together moments of fan service designed to push the next movie in the series.

Yeah, I've sort of tapped out on the MCU. I'll catch one occasionally, when convenient, but definitely not trying to keep up. I guess at this point, I'll go ahead and stick to the 3 Raimi films for my superhero movie fix. The trilogy sort of wraps everything up and doesn't go on forever. Granted, part 3 isn't amazing, but I didn't think it was as terrible as most made out. Sandman was great. Harry as Green Goblin was the correct way to go and closed out that saga. It's unfortunate the studio forced Venom onto the series.

Well, I will probably go see GotG 2 and keep up with Daredevil, so I guess I'm not totally disconnected, but by and large....meh.

EDIT: Kraven's Last Hunt, without any other forced ties to the MCU, would be fantastic. I'd go see that.

Fuck this crap. The last goddamn thing the world needs right now is yet another Spider-man origin movie. I like RDJ, but even he couldn't save me from the utter boredom of watching that trailer. And the decision to make Vulture look like a winged version of movie Green Goblin is also boring. The Vulture has never been a great villain, but the comic book version at least had a distinctive look.

When I ask Spider-fans to tell me their favorite storylines, it seems like Kraven's Last Hunt is the most recent one that they name. And that was more than 25 years ago. I don't disagree with the pick. I actually decided to stop reading Spider-man comics after Kraven's Last Hunt, because it was better than anything I had read in years involving Spider-man, and I had a suspicion that it was all going to be downhill after that.

My favorite era for Spider-man started with the Romita run that read like a superhero version of Archie comics. It ended a few years after the death of Gwen Stacy, around the time that Marvel started up another monthly Spider-man comic to really milk the fans for cash.

Well...reaction here definitely seems different than what all those 'reaction' videos listed on the right of this youtube video. The still frames for those videos make it look like this is the most spectacular thing filmed.

I still don't get those....I watch you...watch a trailer?

I don't think the internet and I are meant for each other anymore...

Yeah...this whole culture of narcissism and vanity that the Internet created makes me feel like Travis Bickle. One day a rain is going to wash it all away...

I mean, what possesses someone to make them think that anyone would want to watch them watch something? What possesses someone that makes them want to watch that?

I'd beat my kids if I caught them watching one of those "reaction videos"

I think this movie looks cool. I'm excited about it, and I usually am excited about the MCU.

Do we get to complain about people complaining about people watching people watching movie trailers, or is that too meta? :)
