Does everybody here but me own REEF ENCOUNTER? Is it something about the fish that you guys like?

I like attacking other players and conquering their territory. Its definitely very Euro dry, but at the same time you won't win by playing nice. You mainly look for weaknesses in your opponents reef formations so you can move in with a dominant color. And then use the tiles you just captured to your advantage, like changing the dominant colors.

I think owning both Caylus and Amun-Re is a helluva 1-2 punch of lameness though.

There are definitely a lot of shitty ameritrash games you could be embarrassed of, too.

I own lunch money and WIDE OPEN the racing card game. Thats some really shitty Ameritrash.

Is Silverton a Euro? I don't really think so, but it's the only thing I own that could possibly be considered a Euro. I don't really own that many games.

Considering that ebay doesn't show a successful sale of New England in the last 3 weeks, I think chances are low of offloading it there. I should probably donate it to Goodwill- I'm sure it will show up in someone's "My latest thrift store finds!" list on TOS.

For now I just use it as a motivational tool for not buying games on impulse regardless of how low the price is.

I wouldn't consider it a Euro as the theme is well-supported by the mechanics, and I'm fairly sure the first edition was designed in the early to mid 90s.

*sigh* Is this the place where I go through my Marxist/Maoist "cleansing through self-criticism"?

I came back to the hobby in late 2006 and was astonished by what was on the shelves. Then I discovered BGG, where I got kind of suckered by the enthusiasm for many of the "top" games.

My copies of Bohnanza and 10 Days in Africa were found at thrift stores for under $2, so they don't count. As for the list...hrm...so many tied for the top spot.

Puerto Rico? *sigh* "Beaten by a spreadsheet" to quote either Sag or Morgan D. (I think it was Sag).

Agricola...embarrassed by the hype but not the game. It ain't bad, though I think it's too short by half--just as things seem to come together, it's over. It did, however, sucker me into buying Le Havre *sigh*

TtR--not for owning TtR but for having so several different versions of TtR. That was a *complete* sucker move on my part.

As for crappy AT games, oh yea, they're out there...and in here too.

Silverton is defintely NOT a euro. It is actually a pretty good train and market simulation game, defintely my favourite train game - pity I'll never find anyone to play it with again (need to like train games that last 5-6 hrs and needs at least 4 players).

the fact that I own Caylus and Agricola. I like Agricola somewhat but the whole lack of interaction is annoying.

I also have 10 days trhough Europe. It's a decent enough filler but not much else.

Probably Thurn & Taxis: Power & Glory, which is a watered down, tension-free version of Thurn & Taxis, which is a watered down, low-tension, mail-carriage-themed Ticket to Ride type game. I don't even own T&T, just the expansion. In my defense, it was only, like 3 bucks.

Is there any other kind?

Wait a minute, do you mean more watered down and more tension free than original thurn & taxis?

The real kicker is, you're not embarrassed by any of them, are you?
