Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome - Marvel Heroes VS Marvel Heroscape

AGREED ! - This is imperative for the credibility of F:AT and the future recognition of AT and FATies as a meaninful and valid genre ....

Do We Rate a Themed, Intelligent boardgame lower than an acceptable minis expansion ?!

Rise up against Mikey Barnes and his bitter AToE-stained campaign to derail honest and hard fought Trashdome results before he brings shame and mockery to this hallowed institution.

I don't think we need to go that far with Mikey B. and any other instigators - although if I could prove Octavian was involved ...

WTF? Lemme double check the URL here, I think Firefox is doing something weird."
The only weird something being done is voting for Marvel Heroes!

maka wrote:
" Actually kookoobah never actually voted, sure he said he'd probably enjoy Marvel heroscape more, but never actually voted, so Marvel Heroes wins 12 to 11"
Ah, ye olde "keep repeating it until they believe it's true" tactic. Don't forget that maka was convinced by the overwhelming rhetoric and changed his vote to Marvel Heroscape.

But as the elderly get on in years, sadly, seem to remember is as accurate as it gets...

Playing Heroscape counts.

You're getting confused, there's no "Themed, Intelligent boardgame" in this Trashdome - Heroclix and Capes & Cowls were mentioned but they aren't contenders. It's the themeless Choo-approved Marvel Heroes vs the all-conquering Heroscape.
Don't forget that maka was convinced by the overwhelming rhetoric and changed his vote to Marvel Heroscape.

" ...if I could prove Octavian was involved ..."
He was, Tom, he voted for Marvel Heroscape. Don't you remember?

Mad Dog, in future could we perhaps vote by posting a picture, rather than words?
It'll make it easier for some of our voting-impaired members...
Don't forget that maka was convinced by the overwhelming rhetoric and changed his vote to Marvel Heroscape.

EDIT- Don't forget that maka was convinced by the overwhelming rhetoric and changed his vote to Marvel Heroscape.

Ha you wish!!! At least I can show proof of my statement, so here it is:
kookoobah wrote:

I have Marvel Heroes, and I have Heroscape, not Marvelscape though.

Even though I haven't played Marvelscape yet, I must say that it is probably going to be more fun than Marvel Heroes, which is flat and tasteless.

Does that look like a vote? no.

Edit: here's an extract from the Trashdome rules:

Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting on it. End your first post in this thread with the title of the game you're placing a bet on (i.e. voting for) so its clear to me when reading it later.

Ah, maka, maka, it's a sad day when you forget that the quoting of rules belongs on T.O.S.... This is F:AT and kookoobah saying "it is probably going to be more fun than Marvel Heroes" certainly looks like a vote to me.

And it's easy to show proof:-
maka wrote:
" I bow down to the superior wisdom of your collective Ameritrash logic. I apologise wholeheartedly and unreservedly for the wicked error of my ways. Henceforth I will praise no other game than Heroscape. This I swear on the blood of my firstborn, my pristine collection of Agricola, and Stephen Avery's tanktop. Please forgive me and change my vote to Marvel Heroscape."

(Okay, so you didn't really write that . . . but you wanted too!!!!)

Not bad, but you made a seemingly small mistake: I don't talk like that, my foreigner status prevents me from using words like "Henceforth" and "wholeheartedly" (I even had to cut and paste those). Again you've caused your own undoing! :p Now I'm sure you're so ashamed at being caught red handed that you'll change your own vote to Marvel Heroes, eh?

Clearly we need to invoke the old Games Workshop rule here:
Roll 1d6 to see who wins.

Sounds good. On a roll of 1-6 Marvel Heroes wins.

Yep. Rolling 1d6 to determine the result sounds pretty much like the amount of fun you'd get out of playing Marvel Heroes.
