It currently looks like the Thunder Alley expansion isn't going to fund. It seems like the biggest problem is shipping to Europe being too expensive. I've seen people quote something like $60 USD total after shipping and duty/taxes. For whatever reason they can't find a way to ship 240 playing cards to the UK for less than $22.Obviously nobody is deliberately failing to find a good shipping deal but it's hard to get someone to pledge so much on an expansion for a game that already has fairly niche appeal outside the US. People are pledging more to support the effort.

I'm not sure they've really leveraged BGG as well as they could for the project either. I feel like they could learn a thing or two from someone like John Clowdus on how to make a small size, small run kickstarter work.

I was just thinking that too. I guess it's trying to replicate needing to learn the bosses patterns but why not just open the information?

Also, once you have that much open information things can (should?) become EXTREMELY calculated.

I think the memorization bit is probably a way to convey the panic-fog that can happen in the game, but a large part of that is already handled with the dice randomness I guess.

Yes, you can buy at least 80 IKEA bags for the price of one of these and they feature:

- space age Swedish design technology
- collapsability for easy storage
- interlocking, water-resistant fiber construction for maximum strength
- two carry handles that double as shoulder straps
- a single size big enough to fit today's largest games
- virtually limitless other carrying applications
- no nerd logos or geek pandering

I remember people making fun of me when I started bringing my games in one. Who is laughing now.

But does it have a D-ring to hook a carabiner?

This KS easily reached its funding goal, incredible.

That Vanguard bag looks a lot like the bag that came with my bocce ball set, which cost less than $60 and included the balls.

I don't even want to hang around with the idiot who buys that game bag. Who is so worried about dropping a game when transporting it? The kickstarter has filled me with unreasonable rage.

Something about this egregiously bad illustration I saw on BGG from the Gloomhaven kickstarter...

Hold the Line had a few fans here, so if you're interested in a tricked out version...you're in luck.

Don't forget that GMT couldn't fund the base game through Kickstarter either, so it would seem like seeking $20k for an expansion to a game that's already been, in some sense, rejected by the KS community despite what would seem like a winning brand--and which is a very good game to boot--would be that much harder. Granted, TA is now more of a recognized quantity, but KS doesn't seem like the best route here.

Also, the response on the comments to "advertise more," "improve the graphics," and the like has been basically "no money."
